Atalla Plastic Surgery | Skin + Laser offers all aspects of cosmetic surgery and the most medically advanced care in skin rejuvenation. Dr. Victor Atalla is a licensed and Board Certified Plastic Surgeon specializing in cosmetic, breast and reconstructive surgery. He began his medical training in Boston, MA receiving his MD from Boston University. Dr. Atalla then spent three years in Washington, DC at The Washington Hospital Center completing a residency in general surgery. This led to his plastic surgery training at Georgetown University also located in Washington. There, he was lucky enough to spend a great deal of his training with Dr. Scott Spear who is one of the most highly regarded breast surgeons in this industry. He also participated in clinical studies and publication projects through his training program. Following his plastic surgery residency, Dr. Atalla spent six months travelling and living in Europe and Jordan, where he worked with a close friend who was also a graduate of Georgetown’s Plastic Surgery program.

Dr. Atalla began his practice in Bowling Green, KY in 1998 as a member of The Medical Center’s medical staff. In 2000, he moved into private practice which encompasses a wide range of both cosmetic and reconstructive services. Through extensive training and continuing education, Dr. Atalla has built a reputation based on his skill and expertise in the services he offers his patients. He has continued to strive to offer the safest and most optimal choices in plastic surgery to obtain the best possible outcomes. Dr. Atalla holds his Board Certification and membership in the American Society of Plastic Surgeons very highly, and is committed to providing care that is reflective of those entities. He is known for his gentle demeanor and compassion toward his patients and those he works with.

Dr. Atalla sees all of his patients personally prior to surgery. He is available to see patients for follow-up consults to answer questions and discuss surgical details. Although he offers some cosmetic procedures in his office, it is important to know that Dr. Atalla has been granted privileges to operate at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. Dr. Katie Durnen, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, is dedicated to restoring form and function to her patients’ bodies, while helping to heal them both physically and emotionally through the art of her craft. She specializes in all aspects of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery with special interests in breast reconstruction, skin cancer treatment, facial trauma, body contouring, facial aesthetics, and aesthetic breast surgery.

Dr. Durnen began her medical training in Kentucky earning an MD from the University of Louisville in 2013. While there, she received several honors, including the Morgan Williams Award for most outstanding student in surgery clerkship, and the Dean’s Rural Academic Merit Scholarship. From there, she secured a coveted spot in the residency program at the University of South Florida, where she had the opportunity to work with and learn from some of the industry’s most innovative physicians. She also had the rare privilege to train at the NCCN-recognized Moffitt Cancer Center where she learned the breadth of reconstructive techniques for breast cancer, advanced skin cancer and sarcoma defects. Dr. Durnen completed her residency program in June 2019, and has returned to southcentral Kentucky to begin her plastic surgery career.

Peggy Atalla is the practice manager for all services, treatments, and procedures performed. Peggy is the “glue” to the office as she joined Dr. Atalla in the start of their office in 1998. Her knowledge is infinite in the plastic surgery industry. Whether it’s information about a skin care product to a procedure, Peggy knows all.

She leads the Atalla team, assists with training opportunities, and conducts all business matters. Peggy loves giving back to others and is a big part of why our office is so loved by our Bowling Green community.

She has a passion for taking care of clients and making their experience the best.

Amy McGill, board certified physician assistant, has been in the aesthetic industry for 25 years and a member of the Atalla team since 2009. Amy began her training at Florida State University, graduating with a BS degree in Nutrition/Exercise Physiology. She followed this with clinical clerkships in both orthopedics and dermatology, with an emphasis on skin cancers and Mohs skin cancer surgery. Amy went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 2005 from the University of Kentucky.

Amy has previously served as director of laser and cosmetic procedure in a large dermatology office in Nashville TN, and was named National Nurse Director for the Institute of Aesthetic Medicine. She has also served as a faculty member with the Allergan Medical Institute as a master injector and clinical laser specialist and trainer for Cutera Laser Corporation. Amy was a part of the initial clinical research trials to introduce Restylane (2003), Sculptra (2004), and Juvederm (2006) to the aesthetic market. Her experience and expertise in the fields of laser and injectable therapies are both vast and invaluable in the aesthetic market.

Along with our doctors and nurse practitioners, Amy administers Botox, Dysport, Daxxify, Aquagold, and advanced level dermal fillers. She also performs advanced laser therapies, and PRP injections for skin rejuvenation, scar revision therapy, and hair restoration with PRP/PRF therapies. KELLI MILLER

Kelli Miller, Nurse Practitioner (APRN), has over nine years of nursing experience and has been involved in the aesthetic industry for the last six years as an aesthetic nurse provider. Kelli became a nurse in 2013, graduating with her BSN from Western Kentucky University. Kelli started as a Critical Care Nurse, later specialized in Dermatology, and then primarily an Aesthetic Nurse. 

Kelli became a certified Botox and Dermal Filler injector in 2017 through Aesthetic Medical Educators Training (AMET). She then went on to earn her Master’s of Science in Nursing in 2021 from Walden University, and later joined our team in 2022. Over the years, she has attended numerous trainings with some of the top injectors in the country to further advance her knowledge so that her patients have the best outcomes.

Kelli absolutely loves being an injector and thrives to make people feel and look their best. 

Along with our doctors, physician assistant, and other nurse practitioner, Kelli administers Botox, Daxxify, Dysport, and advanced level dermal fillers. She also performs Aquagold treatments, Aveli for cellulite, sclerotherapy, IV therapy, and treatments such as PRP injections for skin rejuvenation, scar revision therapy, and hair restoration. Savannah Young Ward, board-certified physician assistant (PA-C), is a Bowling Green native who doesn’t just provide care in the aesthetic industry; she thrives at building lasting connections with her patients.

Savannah received her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Kentucky in 2018. From there, she attended South University in Savannah, Georgia, to earn her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. Savannah became NCCPA Board Certified in 2022. She began her career in gastroenterology and then found her passion in aesthetics. Savannah has a strong commitment to care, quality, and outcomes.

Savannah specializes in Botox, Daxxify, Dysport, Xeomin, and advanced-level dermal fillers. She also performs Aquagold treatments, hyperhidrosis, IV therapy, and treatments such as PRP injections for skin rejuvenation. Consultations with Savannah are available by appointment.

Hannah Stevenson is a 2011 graduate of Western Kentucky University, where she became a Registered Nurse receiving her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing.  Since then, Hannah has worked in the operating room at the Medical Center as a surgical nurse. Hannah has worked primarily with Dr. Atalla and some other surgeons in our Bowling Green community. In 2023, we invited Hannah to join Dr. Atalla in the office so that she is a part of his consultations, this continuity of care allows Hannah to meet patients during consults and then also be the nurse they see in the operating room and when prepping for surgery. We are glad to have Hannah’s skill, care, and knowledge on our team.

DEANNA DIEHL

Deanna Diehl, LPN, began her career in medicine working in acute and cardiac care. She then moved into the long-term care and home health environments. Deanna began working in our practice at its inception in 1998, helping to set up the office, developing protocols and procedures and developing relationships with the hospital operating room staff to provide a smooth surgical experience for the patient. Deanna has attended multiple in-services, conferences and workshops on various procedures and technology that Dr. Atalla uses, and has received specific training and certification in the areas of laser therapy, Fraxel Restore and LipoLite. Most importantly, Deanna has worked next to Dr. Atalla, learning his technique and treatment styles, and has become an invaluable resource for patients. We want our patients to feel comfortable calling our office, and Deanna is readily available to answer clinical as well as surgical scheduling questions.

Jesica Ferris Campbell comes to us from Russellville, Kentucky. Jesica obtained her associates degree in Medical Office management and is a Registered Medical Assistant.  Jesica joined the Atalla team in 2020 but it was quickly recognized that she had strengths on the clinical side so her role evolved into assisting with set up for our injectors, completing B12/MICs, performing blood draws, and more.

Stacy Wall, clinical manager, graduated from Campbellsville University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences in 1997. She has over 25 years in the industry, as well as extensive training in medical and cosmetic skincare. Stacy has been with Atalla Essential Skin Restoration since 2000. She is a certified Medical Assistant and a member of the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery. She is also certified in the use of Cutera, Syneron Candela, Fraxel, and Cynosure laser technology.  Stacy is trained on SkinMedica, Obagi, Alastin, ZO Medical and Revision skin care systems. She continues to stay current with various laser technologies and skincare treatments.

Stacy’s specialty and certifications include the use of multiple laser devices such as Emsculpt for body contouring, Enlighten for Tattoo Removal and non-ablative fractional procedures.  She also specializes in laser hair removal, vascular and pigmented lesions.

Tammy Hall, clinical aesthetician, earned her aesthetician license in 2011. She came to Atalla Plastic Surgery in 2015 from one of Louisville’s premier medical spas where she was exposed to all areas of cosmetics. Tammy has extensive training in corrective peels and facial treatments, laser therapies, and body contouring therapies. She is certified in Avène, Glytone, ZO, Obagi and SkinMedica. Tammy is passionate about working with her clients to achieve individualized skin care goals. Her professional services offered at Atalla Plastic Surgery include customized facials, rosacea and acne treatments, chemical peels, laser genesis, laser hair removal, microdermabrasion, dermaplaning, HydraFacial, microneedling, dermalinfusion, PRP, and SculpSure.

SAUNDRA ANDERSEN

Saundra Andersen, clinical aesthetician, earned her aesthetic license in 2007 after completing her training at the Fredric Aveda Institute in Cincinnati, OH. Saundra earned her experience working in Aveda Institutes in both Ohio and Colorado. She joins Atalla Plastic Surgery with a background as managing aesthetician, instructor of aesthetics and spa coach. Other services Saundra provides entail microneedling, chemical peels, microderm, dermaplaning, hydrafacials, LED light therapy and European facials with pressure point technologies.

Manon Guy is a Chattanooga native, however, her family made Bowling Green their home when she was young. Manon is a licensed aesthetician from Brillare Beauty Institute in Cleveland, Tennessee. She holds licenses to practice in both Kentucky and Tennessee. She joined the Atalla team in 2022.

Manon has attended many advanced skin care courses and aesthetic seminars. She has a broad knowledge of physician-directed skin care and specializes in a vast array of chemical peels, microneedling, PRP, dermaplaning, and many other types of facials (including but not limited to HydraFacial and Diamond Glow).

Manon’s sweet spirit and care demeanor are a great match for our patients. She loves helping others feel confident and at their best.

Shae Crain is a native of Horse Cave, Kentucky. She became a licensed aesthetician in 2019 at the Summit Salon Academy in Lexington, Kentucky. Shae joined the Atalla team in late 2022.

Shae has attended many advanced skin care courses and aesthetic seminars. She has a broad knowledge of physician-directed skin care and specializes in a vast array of chemical peels, microneedling, PRP, dermaplaning, and many other types of facials (including but not limited to HydraFacial and Diamond Glow).

Shae has a people-centric nature that is welcoming to all. She enjoys playing a small role in helping patients look and feel their best.

Emily Barnard serves as a Patient Care Coordinator for our office.  Emily graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Healthcare Administration in 2022.  Emily’s commitment to quality and service to our patients make for an excellent experience for all who visit our office.  Emily serves in providing administrative support to our patients and staff through greeting patients, answering phones, and assisting clients with questions. Emily is often one of the first faces you see when visiting our office and her smile lights up the room.

Kim Hart joined Atalla Plastic Surgery in 1999 as our receptionist. With time, she has curated our scheduling system, developed computer programs, phone systems and numerous other projects. Her knowledge and 24+ years of experience with Dr. Atalla allow her to answer patient questions, concerns and inquiries.

Sarah graduated from Western Kentucky University in 2005 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing. Though her degree is in marketing, her specialty and prior work experiences have always been in retail and merchandizing.

Sarah grew up helping in her family’s business and has over 20 years of experience in customer service. Working with patients (customers) and helping them is Sarah’s passion and favorite part of working with the Atalla team.

Sarah’s role is very versatile from ordering medical spa supplies to all functions of our day-to-day accounting for our medical spa.

Jackie Riley has been working with the team at Atalla Plastic Surgery since 2004 as our billing and credentialing specialist. Jackie had diverse background and experiences in the medical field before coming to Atalla Plastic Surgery.  

Jackie is very detail oriented and works tirelessly to assist patients with financing when needed, as well as insurance companies to ensure that the patient’s care is covered. Jackie is available during office hours to speak with patients regarding billing and payment options.
